Farmer Scholarships to the April 2018 NOSB Meeting

The National Organic Coalition (NOC) is offering a limited number of scholarships to the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) meetings.  

SteveSprinkel2-NOSBSpring2015-184x300.jpgNOC is opening scholarships up to farmer participants from NOC member organizations and then to farmer participants from NOC Network Affiliates such as Wild Farm Alliance.

Interested farmers should fill out this online application.

The following important topics will be discussed during the NOC Pre-NOSB and NOSB meetings: Farm Bill Updates, oversight and enforcement for imports and dairy sector, add-on labels (Real Organic Project, Regenerative Organic Certification), inspector qualifications, Native Ecosystems, sunset materials, parasiticides in livestock, GMO contamination of seed, and others.

Priority will be given to applications submitted by Tuesday, March 27.

Scholarship amounts will vary depending on how many applicants there are, and what their specific needs are. Recipients should attend the NOC Pre-NOSB meeting if possible and make comments - written and/or oral to the NOSB. Participants should sign up to give oral comments asap. You can give in person comments or comments via webinar. The deadline to submit written comments is 11:59 p.m. April 4, 2018 Eastern Time.

Applicants who apply by March 27 will be notified of the award amount around Friday, March 30, but the scholarships will not be reimbursed until after the meeting.
