JSM Organics is a diverse, certified organic farm located in Monterey County, California. They were established in 2012 to bring sustainable food to our tables without the use of synthetic products and pesticides. Farm owner Javier Zamora says that farming with Mother Nature is one of the best ways to grow food because it helps you deal with the pests that can be a problem with strawberries or veggies. Habitat in and around the farm fields support beneficial insects and birds that provide pest control. Plus, the hedgerow plants provide some extra income. Species like Coyote Brush (Baccharis pilularis) are incorporated into the bouquets that they sell at farmers markets.

The video below features Javier discussing the benefits of habitat on his farm alongside researcher Diego Nieto of Driscoll's Berries, who shares his research on the use of alfalfa trap crops for lygus bug management in strawberries.
