Joy and Rufus will share their efforts to build ecological resilience into the property through regenerative practices, biodiversity, forest management, and prairie restoration. They will discuss their process for installing nest boxes.

A lifelong birder, Barbara will lead a bird walk on the farm.

Krysten Zummo
Audubon
Krysten will discuss ecosystem services provided by grassland birds, how to incorporate native grassland grasses and forbs, and the Audubon Conservation Ranching certification.

Beth will share about the Kickapoo Bird Habitat Initiative and steps to take to support bird populations.

Kriss will give information about programs that can help growers implement bird friendly practices.

Courtney will showcase a songbird nest box and discuss the types of birds that the box can attract, the steps for monitoring boxes, and when and how to identify birds that use the box.
